I have been a Christian for 44 years, and have spent 24 of those years serving the Lord in the Philippines. I grew up in a Christian home, but did not have a personal relationship with the Lord until I was in my twenties. My first years as a Christian were in mainline churches, but I eventually moved from Wellington to Auckland, and settled in the Takapuna Assembly of God (now Harbourside) which has been my home church for 40 years.
I had trained as an intern and served as the Director of Adult Christian Education at Takapuna for 6 years, when the Lord called me to the Philippines. Prior to that I was a secondary school teacher. In my spare time I am a PADI Dive Instructor, and I enjoy reading, doing cross-stitch and quilting. I have four cats (two in the Philippines and two in New Zealand).
I am the Academic Dean at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary. This job involves oversight of the academic programs, and the faculty. I teach one course per term and some courses in our extension sites in Bangkok, Fiji, and Samoa. We offer Masteral and Doctoral degrees in Ministry, Intercultural Studies, Theology, Intercultural Education, and Biblical Studies. We have students from almost 30 countries, and faculty from 8 countries.
I am also the Senior Pastor of International Praise Center Baguio City. The church has an outreach to the poorest socioeconomic area in the city as well as an international service on Sundays.
